Polyaminde based material for 3D printing
CRP Technology launched a new material in the field of polyamide based materials: Windform SP. Its characteristics suit a number of applications, including the motorsport industry.
Windform® SP is a composite polyamide based carbon filled material characterised by its deep black color. It can be considered a “Top” level material within the polyamide Windform® materials for 3D printing and additive manufacturing. It has increased resistance to shock, vibration and deformation. This material also shows increases in impact strength and elongation at break. Moreover it retains its thermal properties and resistance to high temperature.
It is waterproof, resisting the absorption of liquids and moisture. Moreover, the new material is suitable to create reliable, functional prototypes for applications in motorsports, automotive (suitable for example for components under the hood, such as intake manifolds), Air (components for UAV , Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) and aerospace design. Windform® SP can be purchased directly in powder form.
You can apply a metal surface finishing on this material, which makes it suitable for use in the automotive industry, on parabolic headlights, external components (radiator grilles, door handles, rear view mirrors, window frames), internal components (door handles, air vent frames, gear stick frames, and moldings in general); components for the lighting industry (parabolas and reflector lamps) and for industrial design, from household accessories and furnishing (cutlery, door handles), to telephones (mobile phone covers and keypads) and fashion (jewellery and costume jewellery).
Standard production times are approximately 4 working days in addition to the time it takes to assemble the prototypes.
