Yes, there are a number of standards that different governmental agencies, (NASA, Military, Navy) have worked on to develop for their own purposes, as well as a number of standards in progress. The ASTM F42 committee is working on developing a list of current activity. Individuals from these agencies attend the standards meetings and work in several of the committees.
