To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Extreme Redesign, we’re featuring previous winners, as well as instructors who’ve had their students enter the Challenge. Just keep watching the Stratasys blog, 3D Printing on Campus Facebook page and Twitter feed to see how participating in Extreme Redesign has helped students learn new skills and has even shaped a few career paths.

Is this the perfect challenge for you or someone you know? Make it happen! Everyone who enters gets a free t-shirt, so what do you have to lose? You don’t even need to have access to a 3D printer to enter. Entries must be submitted in the form of a 3D-printable STL file and will be judged on creativity, practicality and mechanical function. For teachers, this is a great opportunity to inspire students to combine design, curiosity and mechanical skills while experimenting with one of today’s most cutting-edge technologies.

The top 10 designs in each category (Middle & High School Engineering, College Engineering, Art & Architecture) will receive a gift card and get their design produced on a Stratasys 3D Printer. The top three in each category will earn a cash award, plus the winning design will receive a limited-time demo 3D printer for the instructor to use in the classroom. There’s even a special prize for the best fulfillment of this year’s bonus design challenge: Extreme Sports.
